[kō′ak·sē·əl an′ten·ə] (electromagnetism) An antenna consisting of a quarter-wave extension of the inner conductor of a coaxial line and a radiating sleeve that is in effect formed by folding back the outer conductor of the coaxial line for a length of approximately a quarter wavelength.
