Diluted Founders

In venture capital, founders of companies who have sold most of their ownership. This occurs when the founders approach venture capitalists for funding and in exchange give a portion of the company's ownership to the venture capital firm. Over time, through successive financing rounds, the founders' stake in the company becomes increasingly diluted.
