Degtiarsk

(until 1954, the settlement Degtiarka), a city in Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR, 22 km southeast of the Revda railroad station (on the Sverdlovsk-Kazan line). Population, 22,000 (1970). It is a copper-mining center, providing the raw materials for the Central Urals Copper Smelting Plant (the city of Revda). Other industries include the production of chemical and mining equipment and a clothing factory.
