Aginskoe

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Aginskoe Buriat National Okrug, Chita Oblast, RSFSR. Located on a highway in the broad treeless valley of the Aga River (Amur basin), 37 km southwest of the Mogoitui railroad station (on the Karymskaia-Zabaikal’sk line). Population, 7,200 (1967). Aginskoe has a creamery, a bakery, and a pedagogical school. First settled in 1811, Aginskoe was designated an urban-type settlement in 1959.
