Deinocephalia
a suborder of large reptiles that existed in the Permian period. Maximum length, 5 m. Deinocephalia were characterized by massive skeletons and a domed thickening of the top of the skull. The suborder includes ten families. There were carnivorous Deinocephalia (for example, Titanophoneidae), as well as herbivorous types, such as Estemmenosuchidae and Ulemosaurus.
