Dopolneniia K Aktam Istoricheskim

(Supplements to Historical Documents; DAI), collected and published by the Archaeographic Commission, vols. 1-12, St. Petersburg, 1846-75. The publication includes 1,800 valuable documents dealing with the history of Russia from the 12th century to the 17th drawn from central and many local archives, as well as from private collections. A number of documents, the originals of which were preserved in Stockholm archives, were published on the basis of copies. The DAI contains many unique documents, among them the so-called Church Statutes of Prince Vladimir and Grand Prince Vsevolod Mstislavich’s charter to the Church of John the Baptist in Opoki, as well as the testament of Ivan IV (1572), documents relating to the Stroganov family and to the ironworks at Tula and Kashira, materials on the colonization of Siberia and geographical discoveries, on the Pskov uprising of 1650, on the peasant war led by S. T. Razin, and on the Solovetskii Revolt of 1668-76 (including the pastoral letters of Metropolitan Fotii of Kiev, Losif Volotskii, and the Muscovite Metropolitan Makarii). There is an index of proper and geographical names for the first ten volumes (St. Petersburg, 1875).
