Efimov, Moisei Dmitrievich

 

Born Aug. 6, 1929, in Dulgalakh nasleg (district), Verkhoianskii Raion, Yakut ASSR. Soviet Yakut poet. Member of the CPSU since 1960. Graduated from the Yakut Pedagogical Institute in 1953.

Efimov began to publish in 1948. He is the author of several collections of lyric and narrative poetry, notably In the Land Where the Sun Does Not Set (1955), Man of Stone (1960), Holiday of Flowers (1965; Komsomol of Yakutiia Prize, 1968), and Beyond the Rainbow (1968). The poet draws his themes from the natural beauty and people of the Far North and from their new socialist way of life. Efimov has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
