Balkashino

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Balkashino Raion, Tselinograd Oblast, Kazakh SSR. It is located on the Zhabai River (a tributary of the Ishim) and on a motor road, 85 km north of the Atbasar railroad station. Population in 1968, 7,300. Balkashino has a creamery and a building-materials combine.
