(communications)(CDMA) (Or "spread spectrum") A form ofmultiplexing where the transmitter encodes the signal usinga pseudorandom sequence which the receiver also knows andcan use to decode the received signal. Each different randomsequence corresponds to a different communication channel.

Motorola uses CDMA for digital cellular phones. Qualcommpioneered the introduction of CDMA into wireless telephoneservices.
