Web: www.dinoland.com Description:This route on the northern edge of the Colorado Plateau features some of the world's most significant dinosaur fossilquarries and museums. The Utah section of the byway passes near Arches and Canyonlands national parks, the Mill Canyon Dinosaur Trail and Copper Ridge Dinosaur Trackway, Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, Utah Field House of Natural History, Flaming Gorge, and Dinosaur National Monument. TheGreen and Colorado rivers run through the area ofsoutheastern Utah and western Colorado, providing excellentopportunities for water-based recreation including rafting and fishing.There are also excellent opportunities along this route for hiking,mountain biking, and horseback riding.
Legth: 328 miles (Utah section); 152 miles (Colorado section). Start/Endpoint: The Utah section of this two-state,512-mile loop begins at the Colorado border on I-70 and runs in aclockwise direction west through Moab, Green River and Price, thenturns northeast through Duchesne, Roosevelt and Vernal, before crossingback into Colorado again on US 40. Time to Allow: 6.5 hours (Utah section); 10 hours (entire byway). Designation/Year: National Scenic Byway (2002).
