释义 | Dinsmoor, William BellDinsmoor, William Bell(1887–1973) classical archaeologist; born in Windham, N.H. He graduated from Harvard (1906), becoming a student, then excavator and restorer at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens. He taught at Columbia University (1919–63), first as a professor of architecture, then archaeology. He was chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Treasures in War Areas during World War II. His book, Architecture of Greece (1950), is considered definitive. |
