Buxbox

Buxbox

1. A way of budgeting for small organizations in which each department or task is allocated a certain amount of money and in which spending is permitted for that department or task only if there is money left for that line department or task. For example, an organization may set aside a certain amount of money each month for client entertainment. If it has already spent the money for client entertainment for the month, the buxbox method will not permit the organization to borrow from other line items to take a client to lunch. The buxbox method is used most commonly for small Christian churches and ministries.

2. In the buxbox method, the allocation of money made for each department or task.
