Diomid Aleksandrov

Aleksandrov, Diomid Aleksandrovich

Born 1849, in St. Petersburg; died Dec. 31, 1925, in Yakutsk. Russian worker and revolutionary.

From 1860 on, Aleksandrov worked at the Krengol’m textile factory in Narva and at the Tornton factory in St. Petersburg. From 1873 to 1875 he conducted propaganda among St. Petersburg workers at the Chester factory, at the Putilov plant, and at beer breweries and among soldiers of the household troops of the Moscow regiment. In July 1875 he was sentenced to nine years of hard labor. Until 1880 he was detained at the Novobelgorod hard labor prison, and in 1882 he was sent to the one in Kara. In 1884 he moved to a deportation settlement in Yakutiia. From 1896 to 1925 he lived in Yakutsk.
