excellence culture

excellence culture

the elements of a firm's CULTURE which are likely to make it successful. Peter's and Waterman's study of successful American companies led them to identify eight key attributes of excellence: a bias for action; customer orientation; emphasis on staff participation; autonomy and entrepreneurship through staff creativity; management aligned with staff; staying close to the firm's core activities ("sticking to the knitting"); simple organizational structure with few levels of management; local management autonomy, combined with working together towards corporate goals ("loose-tight").
