Facilities:20 campsites (no hookups), group area (camping or picnicking), picnic areas, trails, historic sites, visitor center, restrooms.
Activities:Camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, canoeing, birdwatching, interpretive programs.
Special Features:The US Army's Fort Churchill was built in 1860 to provide protectionfor early settlers but was abandoned nine years later. The ruins of thefort are preserved in a state of "arrested decay." Nearby is BucklandStation, which was a PonyExpress stop. The Overland Telegraph also passed through this area atone time.
