Fort-Dauphin

a city in southeastern Madagascar. Port on the Indian Ocean. Population, more than 12,000. Industry includes food processing and textile production. Uranium ore and mica are extracted northwest of the city. Fort-Dauphin exports agricultural products and the output of the mining industry.
