Location:In Washington County, 18 miles west of Hagerstown off I-70 via MD 56.

Activities:Camping, boating, flatwater canoeing, freshwater fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, living history programs.
Special Features:Fort Frederick was erected in 1756, during the French and Indian War,and is considered the best preserved pre-Revolutionary stone fort inthe country. The fort's stone wall and two barracks have been restoredto their 1758 appearance. Military reenactments are held annually. The23-mile Western Maryland Rail Trail begins one-half mile west of thepark.
