释义 | Converse, Edmund CogswellConverse, Edmund Cogswell(1849–1921) inventor, philanthropist; born in Boston, Mass. He invented a lock-joint for tubing and brought millions of dollars in business to his father's National Tube Works in Pennsylvania. He was active in the 1899 merger into the National Tube Company. He was president and director of many corporations (1903–14). He gave generously of his $30 million estate to both institutions and individuals. |
