Byelorussian Shelf
a zone of hills and ridges in northwestern BSSR, extending from west-southwest to east-northeast for about 500 km. It consists of individual highlands, such as the Grodno, Volkovysskii, Novogrudok, Minsk (the highest, with an elevation of up to 345 m), Orsha, and Vitebsk. It is composed of morainic loams and, in parts, glacial deposits.
