Good for itchy, watery eyes, hay fever. Also used for coughs, congestion, sinus infections, sore throat, ear aches and headaches. The whole plant is edible. Test small amounts first. eyebright eyebright Herbal medicine An annual that contains glycosides, saponins, tannins and volatile oils. It is anti-inflammatory and astringent, and has a long tradition among herbalists as an eye tonic; it is administered as an infusion or applied topically for itchiness, and has been used for colds, hay fever and sore throat.
