Actual market

Actual market

Used in context of general equities. Firm market. Antithesis of Subject market.

Actual Market

1. A commodity market in which commodities are delivered immediately. For example, if one buys 100 barrels of oil on an actual market, the oil is delivered upon execution of the transaction. An actual market is the opposite of a futures market, where delivery is delayed until the futures contract expires.

2. The price at which a trade occurs, as opposed to price at which a given economic theory states that it ought to occur.
