Bü·low B0546300 (byo͞o′lō), Prince Bernhard Heinrich Martin Karl von 1849-1929. German politician and diplomat who was chancellor from 1900 to 1909. As ambassador to Rome (1914) he tried unsuccessfully to keep Italy out of World War I.
