Egorov, Dmitrii Nikolaevich
Born Oct. 14 (26), 1878; died Nov. 24, 1931, in Moscow. Russian historian.
Egorov was a pupil of P. G. Vinogradov. His principal work, Slavo-Germanic Relations in the Middle Ages: The Colonization of Mecklenburg in the 13th Century (vols. 1–2, 1915), is largely devoted to the study of sources; in it he came out against the concept, current in historical literature, of the complete and rapid Germanization of the Polabian Slavs. He also published an edition of the Salic Law with his commentaries (Kiev, 1906).
