Eyeliner Sign

A histologic feature of Bowen’s disease in which extensive intraepidermal pagetoid spread of sheets of atypical cells concentrate at the suprabasal layer, the appearance of which has been fancifully likened to the sharp demarcation of eyeliner, which is accompanied by intercellular bridging, focal/non-uniform CK7 staining, negative CEA and mucicarmine staining, and marked solar elastosis.
