Carbonic anhydrase 4 is a glycosylphosphatidyl-inositol-anchored membrane isozyme, expressed on the luminal surfaces of pulmonary (and other) capillaries and proximal renal tubules; it is thought to have a role in hereditary defects in bicarbonate transport. |
