Chande Momentum Oscillator

Chande Momentum Oscillator

In technical analysis, an indication of whether a security is overbought or oversold. It is calculated by adding together all gains over a given period (a positive number) and all losses over the same period (a negative number) and dividing the sum by the total price movement over the period. The result will be between -100 and +100. A security is thought to be overbought when the oscillator is greater than +50 and oversold when it is less than -50. Some analysts add a moving average to the oscillator to help clarify buy and sell signals.
