释义 | Coolidge, Archibald CaryCoolidge, Archibald Cary(1866–1928) historian; born in Boston, Mass. He taught history at Harvard from 1893. As director of the Harvard Library (1910–22), he oversaw the establishment of the Widener Library (1913–15). He wrote The United States as a World Power (1908) and was editor-in-chief of Foreign Affairs (1922–27). He was the chief of mission in Paris and Vienna (1919) and the Red Cross negotiator with the Soviet Union in 1921. |
