Location:16 miles south of Truth or Consequences via I-25 exit 59 and NM 187.
Facilities:135 developed campsites (63 with electric hookups), restrooms (é),showers, picnic areas (é), group shelter, playground, 2 boat ramps, 3 docks (1 @di), visitor center.
Activities:Camping, boating, sailing, canoeing, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, birding.
Special Features:The Caballo Mountains serve as a majestic backdrop for Caballo Lake, animpoundment on the Rio Grande. Starting in late October, bald andgolden eagles arrive to nest in and around the park. The park alsofeatures two cactus gardens where visitors can stroll among yuccas,century plants, ocotillos, cow tongues, and prickly pears, most ofwhich bloom in late March and early April.
