Finansy Publishing House
a publishing house under the auspices of the State Committee on Publishing, Printing, and the Book Trade of the Council of Ministers of the USSR. Situated in Moscow, the publishing house was founded in 1924 under the auspices of the People’s Commissariat of Finance of the USSR and was called the Finance Publishing House (Finansovoe Izdatel’stvo). In 1928 it became the State Finance Publishing House (Gosfinizdat), and in 1964, the Finansy Publishing House.
The Finansy Publishing House publishes scholarly, scientific, educational, and reference works, and practical manuals on finance, credit, money circulation, accounts in the national economy, and accounting. It also publishes economic analyses of industrial and construction enterprises and of state-funded institutions, as well as publicity for savings banks and the state insurance system and publications and printed blank forms for financial agencies.
The Finansy Publishing House publishes the journals Finansy SSSR (Finance in the USSR), Den’gi i kredit (Money and Credit), and Bukhgalterskii uchet (Accounting). Its annual output is approximately 500 titles with 140 million printer’s sheets, including some 100 titles in printings of more than 2.4 million copies. The publishing house was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor in 1974.
