Chapman State Park
Location:Just west of Clarendon, off US 6, in the northern part of the state.
Facilities:83 class B campsites (some with electricity), 3 cottages, yurts, group tent or trailer camp, picnic area, picnic pavilions, backpacking trailhead, hiking trails (12 miles), snowmobile trailhead and trail (2 miles), sledding slope, boat rentals, 2 boat launches, boat mooring, playground, beach, snack bar, warming hut.
Activities:Camping, boating (electric motors only), fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, hunting, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, sledding, tobogganing, nature programs.
Special Features:Park is in the midst of approximately 517,000 acres of state game lands and Allegheny National Forest (see separate entry in national forests section), and includes 68-acre Chapman Lake on the West Branch of Tionesta Creek.
