Copier a device used to make copies of various materials and documents. Copiers are usually classified according to the physical principle of the copying process: diazo copiers, thermocopiers, electronic copiers, photocopiers, and electrophotographic copiers. In the USSR, diazo copiers and electrographic copiers are the most widely used. Other types include microphotocopiers (for contact and projection printing) and a combined viewer-copier for selective printing. The viewer-copier makes it possible both to view microfilms (photographed on 35 mm film) and to print copies of them on plain paper by an electrophotocopying process. LegalSeeCopycopier
