Uruimagova, Ezetkhan Alimarzaevna

 

Born Dec. 12 (25), 1905, in the village of Khristianovskoe, now the city of Digora, Severnaia Osetiia ASSR; died May 15, 1955, in Ordzhonikidze. Soviet Ossetian writer who wrote in Russian. Member of the CPSU from 1942.

Uruimagova studied at the Gortsy Pedagogical Institute from 1929 to 1932 and became a teacher. She was the author of stories and sketches. The basic theme of her novel The Ossets (book 1, 1948; 2nd version published 1951 as Going Forth to Meet Life) is the historical fate of the Ossetian people and the development of their revolutionary awareness. In the second volume of her unfinished trilogy Going Forth to Meet Life (published 1956), Uruimagova traced the further history of her heroes from 1907 to 1912.
