Fenneman, Nevin

Fenneman, Nevin (Melancthon)

(1865–1945) geographer; born in Lima, Ohio. Associated with the University of Cincinnati for much of his life, he concentrated on the study of physical geography. He divided the U.S.A. into 25 physiographic provinces (1916), and elaborated upon them in Physiography of Western United States (1931) and Physiography of Eastern United States (1938).
