Dzhaki-Unakhta-Iakbyiana

 

a mountain range in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR. The middle group in the south-eastern frontal system of the Khingan-Bureia mountains. Length, approximately 150 km; maximum elevation, 1,682 m. The mountains were formed by sedimentary-meta-morphous rocks, cut through by granitoids. Dark coniferous mountain taiga covers the slopes. In the flat narrow regions between rivers are larches and shallow bogs. Above 1,400 m, bald peaks and mountain tundra occur. At the southern foot of the range, mixed forests grow.
