Dzhetygara

 

a city in Kustanai Oblast, Kazakh SSR. Located on the Shortandy River. Terminal railroad station of a branch (109 km) of the Kartaly-Tselinograd railroad line. Population, 32,000 (1970). Dzhetygara has an asbestos combine, a meat-packing plant, a creamery, and a factory for the production of reinforced-concrete structures. There are mining and evening construction technicums. Dzhetygara was founded in 1915 and became a city in 1939.
