The association of acanthosis nigricans with a generalised absence of subcutaneous fat, accompanied by muscle hypertrophy, hyperlipaemia, diabetes mellitus and hepatosplenomegaly with cirrhosis.
Types of lipodystrophy
• Congential lipodystrophy:
– Congenital generalised lipodystrophy—Berardinelli-Seip syndrome, also known as Seip syndrome;
