Giant Cell Bone Tumour of Bone

A lesion that comprises 5% of all bone tumours; it is most common in the weight-bearing epiphysis of women > age 20, which affects the distal femur, proximal tibia and distal radius; 60% recur with curettage; 10% metastasize, an event far more common in deep(to the fascial planes) tumours
DiffDx A GCT-like histopathologic lesion may be seen in the brown tumour of hyperparathyroidism, chondroblastoma, giant cell reparative granuloma, benign and malignant fibrous histiocytoma, nonossifying and chondromyxoid fibroma, unicameral bone cyst, aneurysmal bone cyst, fibrous dysplasia, osteoblastoma, osteosarcoma, osteoid osteoma and eosinophilic granuloma
