Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation,

private philanthropic organization established in 2000 by Gordon Moore, co-founder of Intel Corp., and his wife Betty. The foundation funds projects in science and environmental conservation as well as programs in and around San Francisco, where it is based. The majority of its grants are grouped in what the foundation calls initiatives: large-scale, multiyear projects focused on specific issues and intended to achieve significant, measurable, and lasting results.
