Born Apr. 19, 1891, in Paris; died there Mar. 28, 1974. French film actress.
Rosay graduated from the Paris Conservatory, where she studied voice and acting. Beginning in 1908 she acted in the theaters of opera and drama, including the Paris Opera and the Odéon. Beginning in 1913, she acted in films. Rosay’s best roles were in films directed by her husband, J. Feyder, including Blanche in Le Grand Jeu (1934), Madame Noblet in Pension Mimosa (1935), Cornelia in Carnival in Flanders (1935), Flora in Les Gens du voyage (1938), and the Actress in Une Femme disparaît (1941). Her other films included Bizarre, Bizarre (1937), The Red Inn (1952), Le Joueur (1959), and La Mystérieuse Madame Chenet (1963).
