acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis

acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis

A rare but severe rash triggered by a drug reaction and characterised by fever, neutrophilia, and multiple small intra-epidermal or sub-corneal pustules overlying erythema, with dermal oedema and focal keratinocytolysis. AGEP develops within 2–3 days of drug (e.g., ampicillin, analgesics, antipyretics, corticosteroids) or other (e.g., spider bite) exposure, peaks at 10 days and resolves spontaneously in ±2 weeks.
