释义 | Frederic, HaroldFrederic, Harold(1856–98) writer; born in Utica, N.Y. He spent most of his journalistic career as the New York Times London correspondent (1884–98); his news accounts of Russian Jews and William II were reprinted in book form. His ten novels were early examples of Mohawk Valley "local color" and historical fiction and included Seth's Brother's Wife (1887) and The Damnation of Theron Ware (1896). He died after a paralytic stroke. |
