G0106100 (gĕr′ē), Elbridge 1744-1814. American politician. A signer of the Declaration of Independence (1776) and a delegate to the Continental Congress (1776-1780 and 1783-1785), he served as governor of Massachusetts (1810-1811) and as vice president of the United States (1813-1814) under James Madison.
