Special Features:Rocky Bayou, the main feature of the park, is the trailing arm ofChoctawhatchee Bay. The property also preserves the old-growth (someover 300 years old) longleaf pines that once dominated this part ofFlorida. US Air Force Colonel Fred Gannon, for whom the park is named,was instrumental in transforming the site from a World War II bombingpractice range to a picturesque state park.
