(2)Gęśle podhalańskie (from the Tatra Highlands), also called złobcoki, an ancient Polish folk instrument played with a bow. The body of the instrument may be wooden, hollow, and pearshaped (like the Bulgarian gadulki) or glued and boat-shaped. It may have three or four strings, tuned in fifths. The instrument is held by the player against the left side of his chest, below the shoulder. The Gęśsle has a sharp shrill sound.
