Gizhduvan

an urban-type settlement, the center of Gizhduvan Raion, Bukhara Oblast, Uzbek SSR. It is situated on the Samarkand-Bukhara highway, 17 km northwest of the Kyzyltepa railroad station. Population, 16,000 (1970). Its industries include a cotton-cleaning plant and a brewery. There is a folk theater in Gizhduvan.
