Location:33 miles west of Santa Barbara on US 101.
Facilities:Family campsites, picnic area, restrooms/showers (é), hiking trails,horseback trails, food service, supplies; no drinkingwater.
Activities:Camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, diving, surfing, horseback riding.
Special Features:This section of the coast was first called gaviota (seagull) by soldiers of the Portola Expedition in 1769. A railroad trestle crosses the park's creek above the day-use parking lot; a trailhead there allows entry to the upland portions of the park, where Gaviota Peak(2,458 feet) affords panoramic views of the coast and the Channel Islands.
