Agribusiness
AgribusinessA general term for all companies and business that engage in agriculture or food processing. Agribusiness includes farms, ranches, grocers, processing centers such as slaughterhouses, and so forth. While the term is used within agribusiness to describe itself, it often has a negative connotation describing corporate farms (as opposed to family farms). It is sometimes associated with practices deemed unethical by some, such as not giving animals sufficient space to move around before they are slaughtered. However, the term also correctly applies to food cooperatives and even family farms themselves.agribusiness
