[¦frē in′dək·shən di‚kā] (spectroscopy) A type of electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy in which a material is exposed to a short high-power pulse (as short as 2 nanoseconds) of microwave radiation, and the response of the material is Fourier transformed into the normal spectrum. Abbreviated FID.
