Fuji-Hakone-Izu

 

a national park of Japan. Fuji-Hakone-Izu is located on the island of Honshu, in the prefectures of Kanagawa, Yamanashi, and Shizuoka. The park was formed in 1936 and has an area of 122,309 hectares. It includes the volcano Mount Hakone (1,439 m), part of the volcano Mount Fuji, hot springs, lakes, rivers, and evergreen forests. The macaque Macacaspeciosa, the sika, and many species of birds are found in Fuji-Hakone-Izu.
