Glezerman, Grigorii Erukhimovich

 

Born Dec. 31, 1906 (Jan. 13, 1907), in Tver’, now Kalinin. Soviet philosopher. Doctor of philosophical sciences (1950) and professor (1951). Honored Scientist of the RSFSR (1967). Member of the CPSU since 1940.

Glezerman studied in the economics department of the Plekhanov Institute of National Economy (1926-30). He has taught philosophy since 1930. In 1955 he became head of the subdepartment of dialectical and historical materialism, and in 1967 deputy director of the Academy of Social Sciences of the Central Committee of the CPSU. His principal works are in the area of historical materialism and scientific communism. He has been awarded the State Prize of the USSR (1951), two orders, and medals.
